Laser Gases

Laser gases are specialized gases used in laser machines and typically consist of gas mixtures such as carbon dioxide, nitrogen, and helium. These gas mixtures are essential for generating the laser beam in laser cutting machines. They supply the laser source inside the machine, enabling the formation of the laser beam.

By combining different gases in specific ratios, these mixtures ensure efficient operation of the laser and achieve the desired cutting performance.

  • Carbon Dioxide (CO2) gas: Used in industrial lasers and effective for processes like material cutting, engraving, and welding.
  • Helium (He) gas: Used in helium-neon (HeNe) lasers and preferred for scientific research, alignment processes, and metrology applications.
  • Argon (Ar) gas: Used in argon ion lasers and finds application in microscopy, spectroscopy, and other fields.
  • Krypton (Kr) gas: Used in krypton ion lasers and chosen for scientific research, display technology, and entertainment lighting.
  • Neon (Ne) gas: Used in helium-neon (HeNe) lasers and widely employed in scientific, medical, and educational fields.
  • Nitrogen (N2) gas: Used in nitrogen lasers and produces ultraviolet laser beams.
