Ammonia is a colorless gas with a strong odor and is approximately 40% lighter than air. Pure ammonia (also known as anhydrous ammonia) boils at -33ºC (-28ºF). It exists as a gas at normal temperature and pressure, but it needs to be under pressure to maintain its liquid state.
Ammonia is widely used as an efficient and environmentally friendly industrial refrigerant in the food and beverage sectors. Additionally, it plays a significant role in the initial stages of production for substances such as paints, fertilizers, pharmaceuticals, and perfumes.
