Nitrous oxide, also known as narcosis gas, is a colorless and non-flammable gas with a slight sweet odor at room temperature.
It is used as an anesthetic in surgeries. When inhaled in small amounts, it has a nerve-relaxing and calming effect, which leads to a euphoric sensation often referred to as "laughing gas". It supports combustion like oxygen gas but is not flammable.
Additionally, it is used in racing cars to increase engine power, and in aerosols as a propellant gas.
